Parental hostility and interparental conflict has been found to increase agression in toddlers but not children at 6 years of age.

A study of toddlers (1-3 year olds) has found 71% have had access to touch screens for approximately 15 minutes a day and most can identify and use touch screen features by age 2.

A better quality relationship with their primary parent was found to decrease negative emotionality in children who had elevated cortisol reactivity and increase positive emotionality in children who had low cortisol reactivity by the age of 6.

Lower attachment security to fathers and a restriction of maternal autonomy granting was found to predict which children maintained anxiety into adulthood.

Ability for a teenager to behave like their 'true self' was found to mediate the relationship between feeling secure within the family and their overall adjustment.

High friendship expectations was found to relate to more positive friendship adjustment and better socio-emotional functioning, with putting effort into friendships improving these outcomes.

Children of mothers with postnatal depression were found to be more likely to have a fearful-avoidant attachment style, with the likelihood of this increasing with the severity of the depression.

Fathers of teenagers with substance use disorder were found to be more rejecting and had a more negative parenting style overall.
